“Stories, like people and butterflies and songbirds’ eggs and human hearts and dreams, are also fragile things, made up of nothing stronger or more lasting than twenty-six letters and a handful of punctuation marks. Or they are words on the air, composed of sounds and ideas-abstract, invisible, gone once they’ve been spoken-and what could be more frail than that? But some stories, small, simple ones about setting out on adventures or people doing wonders, tales of miracles and monsters, have outlasted all the people who told them, and some of them have outlasted the lands in which they were created.”
― Neil Gaiman, Fragile Things
Well here I am, back to the world of blogging.
I thought I’d share a passage from Neil Gaiman because I’ve decided to call my blog twenty six letters, and he says it so beautifully.
When you think about where books take us, and what we learn on those mysterious journeys from the comfort of our living rooms, or snuggled in bed, it’s awe inspiring to think they are made up simply from twenty six letters.
Miraculous and wondrous. Twenty six letters can be moulded and shaped and ordered to take us into another life, another world. It’s like magic.
I look forward to sharing my writing news with you. This is going to be a big year with Mexican Kimono being released in December and another novel on the go.
I’ll endeavour to bring you interesting interviews with other writers. And share their news, releases, and promotions.
Happy reading 🙂
Welcome back to the wonderful world of blogging! Looking forward to sharing your posts 🙂
Thank you, Lisa!
