I’ve been tagged by the lovely Alli Sinclair of Luna Tango fame to participate in the Meet my character blog tour! Click on Alli’s name to see her interview.

Today I’ll interview my character, Lil, from Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Café which is being released on Wednesday!

What is the name of your character?
Lily-Ella Riley.

Is he/she fictional or a historic person?
She’s fictional.

When and where is the story set?
It’s actually a trilogy, and the books begin Christmas 2013 and end Christmas 2014. They’re set in a real town called Ashford, Connecticut.

What should we know about him/her?
Lily loves to bake. No matter what life throws at her, she’ll always have cooking as a comfort. She’s about to get married to Damon, who is truly one if the nicest men around, but her wedding isn’t going to go exactly as planned…

What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?
In the third book, Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Café, the main conflict is someone is trying to destroy Lil’s wedding before she’s even had a chance to walk down the aisle. This tests her love with Damon, and the café and wedding are thrown in to chaos.

What is the personal goal of the character?
Lil’s main goal is simple. She wants to be happy. She wants children of her own one day, and she wants to continue running her café no matter how hard it is to make money. Her love for Damon and his daughter Charlie is what spurs her on these days, but she’s also got a group of loyal best friends who’d do anything for her.

Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?
It’s published tomorrow! Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread café. And here are the buy links:

Now I am tagging fellow Carina UK authors:
A. L. MICHAEL is a twenty something writer from North London. She has a BA in Literature with Creative Writing, an MA in Creative Entrepreneurship (both from UEA) and is studying for an MsC in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes. She is not at all dependent on her student discount card.
She is a creative writing workshop facilitator and English tutor, as well as recently being the Writer in Residence at Red Door Studios in Newham, directing a brand new literary festival called Words With Edge. She is currently running workshops in creative wellbeing, and business skills for artists. She enjoys expensive chocolate, cheap wine, and has an alarming penchant for animal puns. Karen Aldous enjoys village life on the edge of the north-downs in Kent with easy access to the buzz of London. Not only does she love the passive pleasures of reading and writing, she also craves the more active pursuits with her family and friends such as walking, cycling and skiing especially when they involve food and wine!Karen gets much of her inspiration from her travels and if she had to choose, France, Greece, Switzerland, Italy and Lake Tahoe in US would be her favourites. However, wherever she goes, she discovers a new character emerges in ‘Karen’s World’. She likes to write about strong independent women who can direct their own lives – but struggle to control them! And, of course there’s always a gorgeous hunk or two!
