As you may have seen yesterday, with the help of so many wonderful blogger friends, we revealed the cover for Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Café. It’s the third and final book in the Gingerbread Café series, and I was feeling a little sad about saying goodbye to Lil, and CeeCee, my fictional characters. It’s been a huge year for them, and also for me personally. We’ve all had extreme highs, and plenty of lows, and it’s all kind of come full circle…
I had so many people message me, saying they’ll miss them too, and that they felt like they were losing old friends, which is exactly how I felt. And it touched me, that people think of the girls like that. When I signed with Carina UK almost a year ago, I didn’t expect that the books would do so well, or that people would read them and find comfort in them. I don’t know what I really expected.
As the year has gone on, I’ve made countless friends, from bloggers who I cherish, to readers who are so amazingly supportive, the Carina UK authors, and a host of people online who I truly love. I feel like I owe so many people for their help. It’s so appreciated, and it’s one of the reasons the books have been seen by so many, so thank you.
I really hope I’ve done the girls justice in wrapping up their year. I sincerely hope I’ve left them in good place, and that they go on okay without me. I’ll miss them, fictional or not, in my mind they are real people, with real struggles just like everyone else.
Like life, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies this Christmas in Ashford. There’s sadness too. But that’s the fabric of life, and when you have a friend like CeeCee or Lil, you know no matter what, you can get past anything given enough time.
Thank you to everyone that has become a friend over the last year. My life is better for knowing you all, and I hope you enjoy the last instalment of the Gingerbread Café series.
You may also be interested to know I’ve started the next book, and already, I’ve fallen for the main character, Clay. So all is not lost. I may have just found a different character to cling to, and I hope you’ll like him too.
Here is the cover for those who might have missed it yesterday.
