When I wrote Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe I had no plans for it to become a series. It was just a fun heartwarming story about friends and relationships with the festive backdrop of a white Christmas. And food. Let’s not forget the food! I sent it out to reviewers at the same time it was released to the public, and was amazed when I had emails from reviewers and readers asking for a sequel.

I was beyond excited that it was being well received, and the thought of going  back to CeeCee and Lil at the Gingerbread Cafe made me feel like I’d be  returning to old friends. (Yes, I did blog about how they had become a little too real for me! I name-dropped them constantly, and ranted to hubby that DAMON would never say that/do that, until hubby said, “But Damon isn’t real!”  I glowered at him and stalked off to be with my friends, my fictional friends!)

My editor was so sweet when I asked about writing a sequel, (we had book plans in place for the others I’m signed for) She said she had hoped I’d consider writing a follow up! So the decision was made.

All thanks to you, everyone who bought the book, and read it and took the time to message me which inspired me to continue the Gingerbread stories.

I was amazed when Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe became a bestseller on Amazon UK. Writers, Cathy Kelly and Kristan Higgans shared my book  links on their Facebook pages, and being huge fans of theirs, I kind of sat stunned, and mumbled a lot to myself. (OK, I was telling Lil and CeeCee, but don’t tell anyone!)

I hope you enjoy the next book, and that it makes you feel like you’re also returning to your old friends from the little town of Ashford.

Here’s the blurb for Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Cafe

Chocolate…the most irresistible temptation?

The Gingerbread Café is all a buzz! This Easter, Lily and the rest of the town of Ashford, Connecticut are planning a truly decadent Chocolate Festival. Cooking up a storm, CeeCee and Lily are not just baking a batch of their sinfully delicious chocolate-dipped gingerbread men, but an excess of chocolate truffles, squidgy, cinnamony hot cross buns and melt in your mouth chocolate eggs. The Gingerbread Café staff have definitely enjoyed the tasting process!Add in Damon’s cute-as-a-button seven year old daughter, Charlie, up for a visit and Lily’s perfect Easter may just be around the corner. Until her ex-husband Joel turns up demanding twenty thousand dollars… Suddenly the future of the Gingerbread Café is not so clear…and Lily finds herself eating far more of The Gingerbread Café’s treats than her skinny jeans allow…

Can Lily concoct a brilliant plan to save her beloved café, convince Damon she has no feelings for Joel and still throw a Chocolate Festival the town will be talking about for years? There’s only one way to find out…
